Claire Wilson began painting seriously at the age of 40.   Throughout her 35 year career as a Toledo artist Claire has become a recognized watercolor collage artist maintaining a steady representation in area galleries, a presence in regional and national exhibits, as well active memberships in numerous local and regional art clubs and organizations.

Her most recent recognitions include the Best of Show award at the Toledo Artists’ Club Abstracts Only show, and Honorable Mention in the Athena Art Society’s juried Fall exhibit at the Center For Visual Arts. She currently has three works of art in the Toledo Museum of Art Community Gallery juried exhibition Naturally Toledo Challenge which runs through April 2014.

In addition to her spectacular collages Claire uses her discarded paintings to create labor intensive mobiles, boxes, window coverings, jewelry, and decorative boxes.  More of Claire’s paintings can be viewed at athenaartssociety.org/members.  To purchase work from the Shear Sensations exhibit contact Claire at cwopfermann@buckeye-express.com
