Precision Incision is an exhibit of recent work by paper cutting artist Mary Gaynier. The public art exhibit, curated by Main Art-ery will run May 1 –June 15 in the Perrysburg Administration Building, 201 W. Indiana Ave.
Mary Gaynier’s sharp wit, skilled drawings and precision with an exacto knife translate (literally) into cutting edge art. Each piece provides an interactive visual experience . The titles of her work engage the viewer to look carefully at the work to find the clues that lead to the title. For example Cow Tipping at Roswell Farm depicts a detailed paper cutting of a farm with stylized aliens and cows in a humorous nod to the Roswell New Mexico farm famous for its unresolved UFO mystery.
Mary’s work has been recognized nationally and internationally. She has been juried into over 100 exhibits since 2005. Throughout that time she has garnered numerous prestigious art awards and has published a paper cutting kit sold at the Toledo Museum of Art.
Exhibit hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30 pm .
