The Nine Lives, a five member cover band that plays all genres of music spanning 1950-today. They’ve been dubbed” the live jukebox” because they have such an extensive song list. Nine Lives puts on a lively performance complete with sing-alongs, and dance -alongs. This band’s positive, free spirited energy and excitement is contagious. The crowds love them where ever they perform.
Band members include Perrysburg resident Mike Toth on drums who is a self described “percussionist/perfectionist” providing a great backbone for the dance beat. The beat is partnered with stylistic “thumps and slaps” of Chad Singleton on bass as well as vocals. The vocals are shared with Tim Bauer who plays a mean keyboard in Jerry Lee Lewis style, considered the band’s “jack of all trades” he also plays the saxophone, acoustic guitar, and harmonica. Mike Haskins plays lead guitar, his classical piano background translates into finely tuned, highly skilled riffs and solos that create a signature sound for the band and last but not least is another Perrysburg resident Jake Pilewski, lead vocalist who combines his unchartered energy, passion, and range with his experience in theater, doo-wop and rock to deliver not just a melody, but a show to go with it.
When describing the band Tom Clawson calls them “modern electric blues mixed with 70’s style rock and roll. He said, “ all of our shows are a mixture of originals and covers. Blues, Blues Rock and Roots Rock´. Their sound has been compared to legends like Eric Clapton, Jonny Lang, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Tom Clawson says, “that’s pretty good company to keep”. Adding to the award winning sound is Candice Coleman, a strong vocalist who was an American Idle finalist during the 2003 season.
